    Palace of Culture
Iaşi is the second largest Romanian city, with a population of just under half a million. It was the capital of the Moldavian principality until 1861 and briefly capital of Romania. Today it remains one of the major economic and cultural centers in the country.

    Travelling to Iaşi
By plane: Iaşi has a small international airport that is served by several airlines: eg Carpatair, flying from Timişoara, Tarom, flying from Bucharest and Austrian Airlines flying from Vienna. The airport is about 8km from the city center.

By train: Iaşi is well connected by train with Bucharest. The train station is quite close to the town center. There are also direct trains from Budapest.

By car: There are a couple of possibilities to reach Iaşi from all over the country on national roads. Driving from Bucharest usually takes five to six hours by car.

By bus: Romania is criss-crossed by many '.mini buses'., sometimes called 'maxi taxi'. They are faster than the trains, and can be taken directly from the international airport in Bucharest.

In order to help visitors enjoy their stay in Iasi, we have available a number of self-catering apartments close to and around the city centre. For a relatively modest fee, you can stay at any of our self-contained and well-furnished apartments from periods ranging from just a day to several weeks - as the fancy catches you.

Our apartments cater for numbers ranging from single visitors up to groups of seven. All you need to do is search for suitable and available properties (see the reservation box on the left), select and book an apartment, and our representative will be waiting for you at the apartment with the keys to the door.
